The short version

FreeMotorHomes.com is a listing board. We show what sellers post so that buyers can contact them directly.

The one thing to understand before you post anything: a listing is public. Sellers choose to publish their contact details so buyers can reach them, and anyone can read them. We do not sell your personal information, and we take no part in the deal between a buyer and a seller.

Who we are

FreeMotorHomes.com is a website for listing and finding motor homes and trailers. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean FreeMotorHomes.com, and "you" means anyone using the site — whether you are just browsing, listing a vehicle, or advertising with us.

What we collect

We only collect what the site actually needs to work.

• Account details — when you create an account we collect your name and email address. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and is never stored or seen by us in plain text.
• Listing details — everything you type into a listing: title, vehicle type, price, year, make, model, length, mileage, location, description, photos, and the contact name, phone number and email address you choose to publish.
• Location — the city and state you enter for a listing are converted into map coordinates so your vehicle can be shown on the map.
• Advertising enquiries — if you contact us about advertising, we keep your name, email address, business name and message.
• Basic technical data — like any website, ours records routine information such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed, and uses cookies to keep you signed in.

What other people can see

This is the most important part of this policy, so it gets its own section.

• Listing pages are public. Anyone can read a listing — the vehicle details, the location, the photos, and the contact name, phone number and email address the seller chose to publish.
• Do not put anything in a listing that you are not comfortable with the whole internet seeing. If you would rather not publish your phone number, leave it out and use email instead.
• Your account email address is not shown publicly, and the list of listings you have created is only visible to you when you are signed in.
• Advertising enquiries are private. Only we see them.
• Browsing does not require an account. You can look at every listing without giving us anything.

How we use your information

We use the information we hold to run the site and nothing else.

• To show your listings to buyers and place them on the map
• To let buyers contact you directly about a vehicle
• To run your account and let you edit, mark sold, or delete your listings
• To answer advertising enquiries you send us
• To keep the site working, prevent spam and abuse, and keep listings accurate
• To understand broadly how the site is used so we can improve it
• To email you about your account, your listings, or something you asked us about

What we do not do

Some limits are worth stating plainly.

• We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
• We do not run the transaction. We do not hold deposits or payments, verify titles or ownership, inspect vehicles, or act as an agent for either side.
• We do not hand your personal information to the businesses that advertise on the site.
• We do not send you marketing on behalf of anyone else.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that make the site work, and only as much as they need.

• Our hosting and platform provider, which stores the site and the data behind it.
• Our photo storage provider, which stores and serves the images you upload.
• Map providers — when a page with a map loads, your browser requests map images from a third-party map service, which will see your IP address.
• Authorities or other parties where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety or our rights.

Cookies

We use the cookies and local storage needed to run the site — mainly to keep you signed in and to remember where you were. Blocking them may stop you being able to sign in or post a listing.

Third-party map tiles may set their own cookies when a map loads.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information and listings for as long as your account is active. When you delete a listing, it is removed from the site. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal information, except for anything we are required to keep by law or that we need to resolve a dispute.

Public search engines and other people may have made copies of a public listing while it was live. That is outside our control.

Your choices

You stay in control of what you put on the site.

• You can edit, mark sold, or delete any of your listings at any time from My Listings.
• You can ask us to delete your account and the personal information on it.
• You can browse without an account and without giving us anything.
• You decide what goes in a listing — the less you publish, the less is public.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No website can promise perfect security, and no one can protect you from a scammer you choose to deal with.

Keep your password to yourself, remember that anything in a public listing is visible to everyone, and read our Buyer's Guide before you arrange to meet a stranger or hand over money.

Children

This site is intended for adults. It is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will say so on the site.
